WikiConference India 2026

WikiConference India is the annual national gathering of Wikipedia editors, Wikimedia Foundation supporters, and open knowledge advocates from across India. The 2026 edition is held in Kochi, Kerala — a city with a strong tradition of cultural and intellectual life and an active Wikimedia community, particularly around Malayalam Wikipedia which is one of India's most active regional-language editions.

The conference brings together volunteer editors, chapter organisers, academics, librarians, and technologists for three days of presentations, workshops, and collaborative sessions focused on expanding and improving free knowledge resources across India's many languages and communities. India has one of the world's largest Wikipedia editing communities across dozens of language editions, and WikiConference India is a key moment for that community to share knowledge, address challenges, and celebrate the scale of volunteer contribution.
